Once i got married, over twenty years ago, my father provided me with three good pieces of advice.

“Son,” he said, putting an arm around my shoulder. “Getting married could be the last decision you’ll ever make.” This is true. “And remember,” he continued. “That if your wife is satisfied…everyone inside your family will be happy.” Also correct.

“Finally,” my father said. “During the path of your marriage things won’t be as bad while they seem. But they’ll do not be as well as they appear either. Your troubles are your responsibility.”
